Day 13 – Spiritual practice in the time of Corona

The noon service in the time of Corona

These verses are from part of the noon service we chant every day. Daehaeng Kun Sunim translated this text from the Chinese character to modern Korean, but also did it according to the underlying meaning. The result is an incredible manual for spiritual practice.

My one mind is the Bodhisattva of Compassion,
so I return to my one mind and rely upon it.

If I believe and follow only my one mind,
I can become one with continuously arising unenlightened beings,
and in so doing, save them all.

  1. This photo brought me some tears, lol, maybe I am imagining things, but when I look at it, I feel the energy from Kun Sunim there, as if she is still guiding sunims, looking after them and encouraging to practice. And sunims looking back at that with devotion and promise to practice. I wish all sunims to have full realization. There is Dharma of non-duality in this picture.
